Acne Scars are a very challenging dermatologic condition. Most of the available treatments need several months-even years, elevated number of session and huge investment from the patient.
Classical subscision is a surgical technique used for several types of acne scar improvement and who brings faster results with a moderate downtime. This technique is not widespread available regarding its complexities, and is only performed by scar specialists.
Having being dedicated to this technique for more than 10 years, practicing extensively in young brazilian army soldiers, and after meeting worldwide specialists in scar conferences and workshops all around the world, I have developed this technique even beyond.
I have baptized these advancements under my signature, due to a level of refinement not available anywhere else. All the steps are performed under a single session, to obtain the most impressive outcomes in reduced timings.
These are these technique steps:
STEP 1 – Nerve Block+Tumescent Anesthesia+Super Topical Anesthesia
This will guarantee a painless experience, and reduce the risks and costs associated with General anesthesia. In some cases, sedation might be necessary.
STEP 2 – Deep Level Subscision using Blunt Cannulas
This step not only protects and prevents complications, but reduces the bruising associated with nodules uprising from the excessive blood and subsequential inflammation.
STEP 3 – Filler Buffering
We use a high G-prime filler to sustain the release of the deep anchored scars and bringing elevation to them. This is and important step to avoid the scars to rebond and resurge.
STEP 4 – Superficial Subscision
This will increase even further the enhancement of not only rolling scars, but also will stimulate the collagen genesis in atrophic scars (boxcars and icepick scars)
STEP 5 – CROSS Peel
This is the most effective treatment for Ice-Pick scars, using a strong concentration of acid to stimulate remodeling. We also use a modified technique on this particular step, to limit lesions enlargements, common to the use of toothpicks.
STEP 6 – Fractional Treatment
This step is always tailor made for each patient, as skin features and color may be considered. A non-ablative laser, Fractional radiofrequency or even Fractional laser may be used isolated or in combination.
STEP 7 – Platelet Rich Plasma
The main interest of PRP application here is to reduce inflammation, speed up recovery and risks related to hyperpigmentation of the skin. The application of PRP is done also in different skin layers.
