Scar Expertise

About

As a scarring expert, Dr. Schmitz draws several modalities and years of proficiency to perform tailor made treatment options that are not easily found elsewhere. He understands that this requires a careful combination of treatments to accomplish specific goals. Improving scars requires a customized approach that is driven by patient concerns. A scar appearance will also be affected by an individual’s age, racial features, former surgical repair and location on the body or face.

Our working concept is that the earliest possible approach should be done for scars. Even then, several year old scars can still benefit from treatment.
The use of Roaccutane/Isotretinoine is no longer a limiting factor for starting a treatment.
Planning your treatment even before performing the surgery you need is the best you can do to get a minimally visible mark.
